Even a five o'clock shadow looks less Miami Vice and more artfully haute on Tom Ford.

I love his design asthetic. I adore his fragrances. His eyewear? Sublime.

And after seeing his film “A Single Man,” I’m going to say yes, absolutely, Tom Ford can do no wrong.


I can’t help but gush: every single thing about this beautiful, lush film is stunning. The cinematography, the casting (hello? Where have I been? When did Colin Firth get to be such a chic hottie?), the soundtrack, the architecture and of course, the attire.

Not to mention the heartbreaking story, based on a Christoper Isherwood novel of the same name, that is captured in a passionately, painfully restrained way that smacks of the era in which it is set, the 1960s.

If you haven’t yet seen it, you must go. Now.

You must also listen to the soundtrack immediately. The haunting instrumentals from composers Abel Korzeniowski and Shigeru Umebayashi blend seamlessly with opera and Booker T. & the MGs.
