About Rachel

Rachel Sutherland isn’t big on rules, but she does adhere to a few principles when it comes to personal style:

You don’t need to spend a million dollars to look like you do

No one has to know what size you wear unless you tell them

Self-confidence is sexier than any stiletto or tight dress, and it matches everything you own.

She has been a working journalist for more than 14 years, most recently as Style Editor at the Charlotte Observer, the largest daily newspaper in the Carolinas.

Her writing and styling work has appeared in Charlotte Magazine, SouthPark Magazine and UCity Magazine. She is also a frequent guest on the syndicated radio programs The Matt & Ramona Show and The Satisfied Life.

She is a guest blogger for Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont, and was recently named one of the top five Most Stylish People in Charlotte by Charlotte Style magazine.

The Michigan native is a graduate of Wayne State University, and lives in the Charlotte area with her husband and two children. As a volunteer, she is involved with Tri It For Life, a non-profit training group for first time female athletes. She is a member of the Women's Intercultural Exchange.

A self-professed shoe fiend, she also dabbles in handbag coveting. She is a frustrated crafter and adores all things vintage, especially textiles and jewelry.
